NEW: Earth tremor hits Nyanga

AN earth tremor was recorded in Nyanga and some parts of Mashonaland East around lunch hour yesterday.

The vibration lasted for not more than a minute and no damage to property was experienced.

 

The tremor was mostly felt in Nyamhuka area of Nyanga Town.

Metrological Services Department’s Seismic Analyst, Mr Anesu Chibi confirmed the tremor, and said investigations are in progress to determine its intensity and magnitude.

“We can confirm that an earth tremor was felt in Nyanga and some parts of Mutoko in Mashonaland East. It was recorded around lunch hour and we are carrying out investigations to find out the epicentre and its intensity,” he said.
