The Environmental Management Authority is advocating for litter-free Easter and Independence Day holidays.

Speaking during a cleanup campaign in Bindura today, EMA’s environmental education and public relations officer Mr Maxwell Mupotsa said several churches will be having gatherings during the Easter holiday and it was important that they keep their meeting places clean.

“We encourage churches to appoint anti-litter monitors to ensure that litter is not left behind wherever they gather,” he said.

He urged public transport operators to ensure that their vehicles had bins to prevent passengers from throwing litter out of windows.
