The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) today officially commissioned the Mutawatawa Magistrates Court in Uzumba Maramba Pfungwe (UMP) district, as the organisation continues to facilitate easy access to justice for all.

This is the first magistrates court in UMP, and has brought relief to JSC staff who had to travel to Mutawatawa from Murehwa district for court proceedings.

Commissioning of the Mutawatawa Magistrates Courts was done by the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission Mr Walter Chikwana.

“The ceremony is a testament to the Judicial Service Commission’s unwavering commitment and dedication to advancing access to justice, decentralising judicial services and fostering constitutionalism,” he said.

“The official opening of Mutawatawa Magistrates’ Court is yet another milestone in the fulfilment of JSC’s vision to build ‘a Zimbabwe in which world-class justice prevails’.”.

Mr Chikwana said after Mutawatawa, they were now focusing on establishing another magistrates court at Hwedza Centre, as well as at Mahusekwa Business Centre, both in Mashonaland East Province.

He said plans were at an advanced stage for the establishment of the Hwedza Magistrates Courts.
