NEW: End of the road for sticky-fingered farm manager

A former manager at Kismert Farm (Pvt) Limited in Mhangura who has been on the run for over a year after allegedly stealing money and farming inputs has been arrested.

The value of all the stolen items is US$166 750.

Shaw Dick was arrested last week at another farm in Beatrice after police received a tip-off of his whereabouts.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Dick allegedly stole US$48 000 worth of maize seed, US$63 000 worth of cured tobacco, US$20 000 worth of soya bean seed and US$8 000 worth of potato seed.

Dick was also alleged to have vanished with solar panels valued at US$2 000, a motorcycle, a water pump and other household goods, as well as US$13 500 in cash.

The suspect is expected to appear at the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court.
