NEW: Enzo Ishall explains “Iyoyo”

POPULAR Zimdancehall musician, Enzo Ishall (born Stephen Kudzanai Mamhare) recently released a track titled “Iyoyo.”

The track was produced by Cymplex Music, the recording studio which also produced “Ehe” and “Vakamhanya Makarimwa” for Ishall.

Cymplex is also behind the song “Zimbabwean Queen”, which features Freeman and Jamaican sensation, Chris Martin.

Ishall said the new song, which he said was inspired by fans, does not have any particular meaning.

“This is a party song, which started as a freestyle. I was doing a freestyle when my friends and fans requested me to stop performing other songs except for this song.

“They were saying “tirikuda iyoyo”, and this is where the title of the song was derived.

“This is simply a song for the festive season. A song that will make our fans dance and be merry without necessarily conveying any messages,” he said.

Ishall broke onto the musical scene with the song “Kanjiva.”

The new song has a Nigerian vibe which was well-blended with the mbira to give it a Zimbabwean flavour.
