A Harare man has sought the court’s protection from his ex-girlfriend whom he accuses of being violent.

Givemore Gonye accused Shamiso Zuke of assaulting her, refusing to end their relationship and causing problems with his wife and children.

“She is my ex-girlfriend, she injured me with a bottle on my face and does not want to end our relationship. She comes to my workplace to assault me.

“She once came to my house and beat up my wife.

‘’We dated for two years and ended things when she asked for US$100. I told her that I did not have the money and she became violent.

“I have suffered enough. My child asked me about the injury on my face and I had to lie about it. I will never cheat on my wife again,” said Mr Gonye.

In her defence, Zuke denied the allegations and accused Gonye of being violent.

“He is the one who comes to my house. It all started when I saw him with another woman who is not his wife. That’s when I injured him with a bottle on his face,” said Zuke.

Magistrate Ms Judith Tarunga granted a peace order in Gonye’s favour and warned Shamiso against being violent.
