CAPS UNITED owner and Premier Soccer League chairman, Farai Jere, has become the latest administrator to be linked with the potentially explosive ZIFA presidential election.
Jere is expected to launch his campaign bid soon.
Although the businessman has not yet openly stated his intentions, sources say he hinted them to the ZIFA councillors who gathered in Harare for the Annual General Meeting last Friday.
“Jere gave a strong hint at that AGM. So for now we believe he will be joining the race,” a councillor said.
A number of individuals have been linked with the ZIFA presidential election, including Marshal Gore and Richard Mazodze.
Yadah Stars owner Walter Magaya, former CAPS United owner Twine Phiri, Northern Region Soccer League chairman Martin Kweza and former ZIFA board member Philemon Machana are also believed to be angling for the ZIFA presidency.
