NEW: Five cholera cases confirmed in Harare

FIVE cholera cases have been confirmed in Harare suburbs Hopley Zone 5, Stoneridge, Southlands, Granary and Ardbennie in Mbare, the Harare City Council has announced.

In a terse post on microblogging site X (formerly Twitter), the local authority said three of the cases had visited Buhera (Manicaland), which has been grappling with an outbreak of the infectious disease.

However, some of the infected might have contracted the disease from local sources.
