Budding gospel artiste Brian Panavanhu has released a potentially explosive six-track gospel album “Tumirai Moto”.
The album carries songs such as the title “Tumirayi Moto”, “Hakuna Rimwe Zita” and “Nguva Yekunamata” among others.
In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, the optimistic young man said he is confident that the album will introduce him to the Zimbabwean entertainment industry and at the same time change people’s lives through his music.
“I have been working on this album since I came back from South Africa in 2012, I did the best I can and I am sure it will make an impact on the local gospel scene,” he said.
The musician said although he is practically unknown on the local scene he is no greenhorn, as he once shared the stage with South African gospel musician Benjamin Dube and others down south, thus giving him grounding in the industry.
“I have worked with some renowned musicians in South Africa and have learnt a lot from them and I am sure I now have what it takes to be an established musician in my home country,” he said. He added that he is currently working on a DVD album to be released before the end of first quarter.
“I want to cater for everyone. My music is a mixture of genres as some people just like to feel good while listening to music but others are more complex and analyse need the artistic craft of the musician, so I am currently working on a DVD with a popular local producer,
“People must expect fireworks. I have also added a bonus track ‘Bereka Mwana Tiyende’, which is not a gospel track to the album just to demonstrate my versatility,” he said.
The young musician is gradually gaining traction and has begun to see increased bookings to perform at private functions, church gatherings and at weddings.
He said he was looking forward to work with local established musicians and stage some live shows with them.
