THE Ministry of Finance and Economic Development said it has scrapped the $5 000 weekly withdrawal limit for pensioners.

Responding to questions in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Finance and Economic Development deputy Minister Clemence Chiduwa said pensioners should be able to withdraw all their money.

“Pensioners should not be given a limit, but should be allowed to withdraw all their funds and not stand in queues,” he said.

He said this will soon be implemented as it has already been agreed upon.

“We liaised with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to remove the limit (for pensioners), and also negotiated for dedicated tellers for the convenience of pensioners so they do not stand in long queues,” he said.
