PREMEIRSHIP hopefuls, GreenFuel will go into the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One mid-season break carrying a four-point lead over nearest rivals, Mutare City Rovers after last weekend’s round of matches.

The second-tier division takes a month-long break starting this weekend, with 16 rounds of matches played.

Undefeated GreenFuel kept their foot on the pedal for promotion with a 2-0 victory at home over seasoned campaigners, Masvingo United.

They remain in first position with 38 points, four ahead of Mutare City Rovers who only managed a 0-0 stalemate with JM Busha 54 at Sakubva Stadium.

The Chisumbanje-based outfit are gunning for the sole ticket into the elite league as they seek their maiden top-flight appearance.

Ex-Premiership side, Buffaloes climbed into sixth place with 24 points following their impressive 3-1 win away to Surrey.

Manica Diamonds Juniors gained another precious point when they held Grayham 1-1 in their own backyard to keep their hopes for survival alive.
