HARARE City Football Club have been admitted into the Division One Northern Region Soccer League (NRSL) after their request was granted on Wednesday.
“We write to advise that FC Prisons pulled out of the Northern Region Soccer League family owing to some restructuring exercise within their parent company,” read a statement from the NRSL
“Harare City FC have been duly accepted in the league, thereof.
“Harare City FC will assume fixtures previously slated for FC Prisons.”
NRSL said revised fixtures will be released soon.
The development ends weeks of uncertainty for the club, which at one time appeared destined to ply their trade in the Southern Region Division One.
The Sunshine Boys acquired How Mine’s franchise in 2018 and appeared headed to the Southern Region after their relegation from the top-flight last season.
There was also speculation that the team would spectacularly bounce back to the Premiership, as it was linked to the possible acquisition of troubled Bulawayo Chiefs.
However, those rumours fell through after Bulawayo Chiefs dismissed rumours that their franchise was up for sale.
