THE City Sports Center will once again be a hive of activity, as the Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super Six enters its second round of games on Sunday.
A couple of upsets characterised the opening weekend, as defending men and women’s champions, Foxes and Vixens, got off to rocky starts to the new format.
JBC got the better of the women’s defending champions, Vixens 46-37, while Kevin Ben’s Foxes narrowly lost to the BUCS 58-60.
Vixens and Bunnies will now meet in the first game of the six-match line-up, with the clash between former champions, Greenstars and Harare City Hornets, expected to follow.
Both Greenstars and Hornets will be looking for their first wins of the campaign after going down to UZ Sparks (61-27) and Bunnies (45-38), respectively, last weekend.
Table toppers, JBC and UZ Sparks clash in the final women’s game of the day.
In the men’s category, the Kevin Ben-coached reigning champions, Foxes, will be hoping to atone for their heartbreaking loss to Bucs when they meet UZ Stars.
The Bucs have a date against JBC and wrapping up proceedings will be the Leopards Academy and Harare City Hornets game.
Both Leopards and Hornets will be hoping to get their first wins of the campaign after defeats to JBC (73-50) and UZ stars (63-54), last time around.
JBC go into this weekend’s action as log leaders after that big win, with UZ Stars and Bucs in second and third place, respectively.
Foxes, Hornets and Leopards Academy round up the log standings, with each team on one point.
