NEW: High court judge Justice Ndewere dismissed

President Mnangagwa has dismissed High Court Judge, Justice Erica Ndewere, after a tribunal found her guilty of gross incompetence.

The tribunal chaired by retired High Court Judge Simbi Mubako submitted its findings to President Mnangagwa on Thursday morning.

In a statement, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda said the tribunal recommended that Justice Ndewere be removed from office.

“His Excellency, the President, has accordingly, in terms of Section 187 (8) of the Constitution, removed Honourable Justice Erica Ndewere from office with immediate effect,” said Dr Sibanda.
Other members of the tribunal were lawyers Mr Charles Warara and Ms Yvonne Masvora.
