Musician-cum-writer Hope Masike recently launched her third book titled “Die with Me”.

Masike’s first book, “Ask me Again”, was released in 2020, and was followed by “Dzevabvezera”, which was published in 2022.

In “Die with Me”, the mbira musician explores the effect of Western cultures on Africans.

“I was actually very angry when I wrote this book,” she said.

“It pains me to see that many people have abandoned their cultures and have adopted foreign ones.”

In the book, she also expresses her deep love for local culture and encourages Zimbabweans to love themselves.

“When I was in France some few weeks ago, I noticed that the French love their culture more than any other cultures.

“They love their food, language, clothes and even their history,” she said.

“Sadly, when I came back home, I noticed that most Zimbabweans despise their culture and have adopted foreign ones.”
