ZIMBABWE has seen a significant increase in the total value of exported goods in May and this demonstrates a positive trend in the country’s export performance, indicating potential growth and economic development.
“Data from the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (Zimstat) show that goods exported out of the country were worth US$538 million, which represents a 13,5 percent increase from the US$538 million reported in April 2024,” said Zimstat Director for production statistics, Mr Aluwisio Mukavhi.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s goods trade deficit has decreased by 23 percent
The trade deficit for May 2024 amounted to US$ 151,1 million, reflecting a notable 23 percent decrease from the previous month’s deficit of US$198 million.
This reflects a significant shift in Zimbabwe’s export dynamics.
