Independence Day commemorations will stretch from April 16 to April 18 to ensure strict compliance with coronavirus health protocols.

Some of the activities will be held virtually.

This year’s celebrations run under the theme “Zim @41:Together, growing the economy for a prosperous resilient and inclusive society.”

The festivities will kick off on Friday with the National Attire Design Competition, which will culminate in the National Design Award.

There will also be an online Youth Business Forum that will involve Government ministers who will engage youth participants.

On the eve of the Independence Day celebrations, all provinces will host the children’s party, while the main event is set to take place at State House.

The President’s interview will be aired on April 17 on ZTV and ZTN, and will also be featured on national radio and online platforms.

On the same day, there will be a virtual concert, while at midnight there will be a fireworks display at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

President Mnangagwa will also address the nation live on Independence Day.
