Chitukutuku said plans were at an advanced stage to roll out the new system. He said the new system would co-ordinate all transport systems including vehicle licensing, transit fees, drivers licenses and abnormal load permits.
The police, Vehicle Inspection Department and Central Vehicle Registration will also be part of the system. “The Ministry of Transport (Communications and Infrastructure Development) is busy putting together all the requirements for this system in place and as soon as they finish they will make announcement of the system,” he said.
ZIMTIS, he said, would ensure there is smooth flow of transport information.
