THE Zimbabwe Christian Development Council (ZCDC), an interdenominational group, has come up with an ambitious plan to establish a solar project that will supply about 2 500 households.

ZCDC intends to raise up to US$12 million to fund the project.

The first phase is envisaged to produce 10 megawatts (MW).

ZCDC public relations officer Dr Fred Chitate said those who want to be part of the project are welcome.

“The minimum investment is US$10 to U$20. But one can invest more, and that also determines the shares you have in the project,” said Dr Chitate.

“While the initial phase is targeting to generate 10MW, in the long run we want to expand to as much as 100MW.”
