JIVE Zimbabwe founder and director Benjamin “Benji” Nyandoro said the “Meat-and-Greet” session held last Sunday was highly fruitful.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, Nyandoro said the programme brought together local artistes and various stakeholders under one roof to discuss issues pertaining to the creative sector.
“The event was a success by any measure. We have set the ball rolling.
“We are going to be hosting the ‘Meat-and-Greet’ sessions once every month,” he said.
“The idea is to create a platform for creatives to occasionally meet, engage, share ideas and collaborate on projects.”
The event was held in Harare and attracted key players in the arts sector.
Jive Zimbabwe is an arts promotion platform that was established to identify, develop and deploy talent.
“There have been growing calls from stakeholders in the arts sector for us to come up with such an initiative and we have positively responded.
“We are open to suggestions and partnerships to improve this concept,” added Nyandoro.
Jive Zimbabwe has worked with several local top acts, among them Jah Prayzah, Alick Macheso, Peter Moyo and Suluman Chimbetu.
