The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has temporarily closed some of its offices and courtrooms countrywide, to pave way for disinfection following Covid-19 outbreaks at the facilities.
In a statement on Wednesday, the JSC said its Harare head office, the Harare Civil and Criminal Courts (Rotten Row) and Tredgold Court house in Bulawayo will be reopened on Friday.
“The temporary closure on Wednesday the 8th and Thursday 9th of December 2021 is to allow for disinfection of premises, testing, contact tracing and adherence to all Covid-19 protocols to contain the continued spread of the virus,” reads the statement.
“Business will resume on Friday, the 10th of December 2021.
“All matters set down for Wednesday, December 8 2021 are automatically rolled over to Friday, December 10, 2021 while those set down for Thursday, December 9, 2021, are automatically rolled over to Monday, December 13, 2021.”
Civil and criminal courts in Gweru, Gwanda, Plumtree, Mutawatawa, Shurugwi, Chitungwiza, Goromonzi, Norton, Rusape, Chegutu, Inyathi, Kadoma, Mbare, and Mutare have also been closed.
