THE Judiciary Services Commission (JSC) is today familiarising its Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) to members of the public and other stakeholders while hosting an open day at the magistrates’ courts countrywide.

The open day is celebrated annually every June 10 by the JSC since 2010 when the commission became independent from the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

IECMS is a web-based case management system that automates and tracks all aspects of case life cycle, from initial filing through disposition and appeal.

In an interview at Mutare Magistrates’ Court, JSC Head of Information Technology and Records Management, Mr Obey Manyenga said the aim is to have the (IECMS) operational in all courts and JSC offices within 36 to 60 months.

To date, the system, has already been integrated within the Constitutional Court, Supreme Court and the Commercial Division court which was officially launched on May 6.

“That was the first phase. The second phase will see the High Court, Labour Court, Administrative Court, Magistrates’ Court and Sheriff of the High Court also adopting the management system. The system will enable ease of access to court information by members of the public because the system can be accessed on the phone, tablet or computer anywhere in Zimbabwe,” he said.

The system will allow for a central data management system equipped with digitally recording, real time updates and quick access to information thereby preventing the loss of information and backlog through a customer sensitised software.
