Post Reporter

REGISTRATION for the June examination period for Ordinary and Advanced Levels has been extended from March 15 to Friday this week by the Zimbabwe Schools Examination Council (Zimsec).

In a statement, Zimsec said the exam fees can be paid in local currency, Rand or US$. The fees are set in US$ but payment can also be made in local currency at the prevailing exchange rate, with Zimsec using a rate of March 17 which is $1 005:US$1 for this week’s payments.

Zimsec said payments for the examination fees should not be paid directly into its account, but parents and guardians or candidates can make payments at the school or centre of registration for forward remission to the examinations body.

“Stakeholders and clients must note that Government subsidy does not apply to candidates retaking any subjects. Basic Education Assistance Module (BEAM) does not support retake examinations and candidates should have fulfilled the Continuous Assessment Learning Activity (CALA) requirements for them to sit the June examinations,” reads part of the statement.
