NEW: Juvenile up for infanticide

A 16-year-old girl was arrested on Friday for killing her new-born baby. 

After killing her male infant, she disposed the remains in a septic tank. 

In a statement on Saturday, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest. 

“On July 22, 2022 police in Harare arrested a female juvenile (16) for a case of infanticide which occurred in Msasa, Harare, on July 18, 2022 where she killed her new-born baby boy and disposed of the remains in a septic tank,” reads the statement.
