NEW: King Isaac teams up with local jazz artiste Nicholar

UNITED STATES-BASED Zimbabwean born reggae/Afro-pop singer King Isaac says he was delighted to work with local jazz singer Nicholar on his latest recording.

Born Isaac Kalumbu in Mufakose, Harare, King Isaac recently did a collaboration with Nicholar titled “Time for Love.”

The reggae song, which was released on Valentine’s Day, has been well-received and is doing well on the local music charts.

King Isaac said choosing to work with Nicholar was “an easy decision.”

“To me, when choosing someone to collaborate with, the most important consideration is whether the person can help me bring the best out of the song.

“It is not about whether the person is popular or not,” said King Isaac from his United States base.

He said his voice and style blended well with Nicholar’s.

“Voices and style are two important elements when choosing someone to sing with. With Nicholar, our voices and styles blended, and the video is great too,” he added.

Nicholar regularly performs in Harare with her own band.

She has done background vocals for various artistes, and has recently begun releasing solo projects.
