LLOYD Mutasa has put behind his unceremonious departure from Premier Soccer League side Green Fuel and wants to prove a point with Northern Region Soccer League new boys MWOS FC.
Mutasa, who was fired at Green Fuel at the end of April, is happy with how he has been received at the Norton-based side.
“The atmosphere here is conducive … what they are doing here shows you people are serious.
“It is left to us the technical team and players to compliment what they are doing. As a coach, I would want to do well,” he said.
Mutasa was in charge when MWOS drew 1-1 with last season’s title contenders Golden Eagles at Ngoni Stadium on Sunday.
MWOS took the lead a minute into the second-half through skipper Marshall Kawashu, who scrambled the ball home after a goal-mouth melee.
Golden Eagles equalised courtesy of Albert Nyamutsaka’s strike in the 78th minute.
“We played against a good side. Eagles are seasoned campaigners and they showed character,” he added.
“We scored but we conceded probably a goal that I thought we should have avoided.”
The draw left MWOS in sixth position with 13 points, six adrift of log leaders Harare City after eight rounds of action.
Black Mambas and Ngezi U-19 are second and third with 18 points each, respectively.
Golden Eagles are fifth with 14 points.
Concession United anchor the log as they are still winless.
