SEASONED goalkeeper Washington Arubi made a triumphant return to Marumo Gallants’ starting XI to help the struggling South African DStv Premiership side to a crucial 1-0 victory over TS Galaxy in yesterday evening’s fixtures.

The ex-Dynamos shotstopper was relegated to the bench in the previous two league games as Gallants lost 1-0 to Chippa United and battled to a 1-1 draw against Kaizer Chiefs.

Yesterday’s win saw Arubi’s team collect their first set of full points for the season after nine attempts.

This was also the team’s first clean sheet in seven games after opening their account for the campaign with identical 0-0 results in the first two games.

Marumo Gallants have now sheded off their early season struggles as the victory lifted them from the foot of the 16-team table to 14th.

They are now out of the relegation zone with nine points from as many games.
