AFTER conquering social media with its catchy adverts and sumptuous meals, Mambos Chicken, one of Zimbabwe’s fast-growing eateries, has now set its eyes on the diaspora market.

The fast-food restaurant recently partnered with Zimfest, one the biggest Southern African Arts Festivals, which is held annually in the United Kingdom (UK).

Mambos Chicken has become a popular brand among Zimbabweans, having successfully worked its way up in the fast-food industry due to their unique business strategy.

“The decision to partner Zimfest was premised on the need to prospect for the international market, particularly the UK, while also supporting artistes from Zimbabwe.

“We have since realised that our brand now has an international appeal, particularly for locals living abroad that want home grown delicacies.

“We believe our partnership with Zimfest, a growing brand in the UK, will increase our brand visibility while promoting room for disruptive and innovative thinking,” said Mambos Chicken brand manager Ms Pamela Nyakabau.

The partnership blends well with Zimfest’s theme of being a music, food and family festival.

The event is one of the most sought-after arts festivals and attracts top acts across genres. Several other local sponsors that want to tap into the diaspora market have also partnered the festival.

Among them are World Remit, Nyaradzo Life Assurance Company, SIP, CBZ Holdings, Mukuru and Ngoto.

The fiesta has over the years proved to be a perfect platform for local acts to showcase their talents to international audiences.

The highly revered Southern African Music and Arts Festival, Zimfest Live, returns on July 29 and will be hosted at Herts Country Showground in the United Kingdom.

The event will celebrate African music, art and culture.

Ten of Zimbabwe’s top musicians are set to grace this year’s edition namely Freeman HKD, Killer T, Baba Harare, Tocky Vibes, female sensation Feli Nandi, Berita, Sha Sha and Musa Keys.

Top DJ’s will also be on rotation.

Already confirmed are DJ Ruv, DJ Bruckout, Fistoz, Special One and Khanda Cool. Empress Trish, Shopsydoo and Rank Marshall will host the main stage, while Xavier –Empress Kanisha will be entertaining the crowds in the Shisha Lounge.

More acts will be announced in due course.

Zimfest Live has become more than just a music festival and is now a community affair that brings people from various parts of the UK together to celebrate music, arts and crafts.

The festival started in 2001, in south-west London.
