POLICE in Murehwa have arrested a 20-year-old man who attempted to sell a cow he allegedly stole from his employer.

On Monday, the suspect, Panashe Shamuyarira, went to a butcher where he allegedly attempted to sell the stolen cow.

However, his attempts were fruitless after he was nabbed for stock theft following a police tip off.

Shamuyarira is expected to appear in court this week.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the arrest.

“Police in Murehwa have arrested Panashe Shamuyarira (20) for stock theft, which occurred on April 4, 2022. The suspect was caught while trying to sell a cow to a butcher operator for US$200 without the owner’s knowledge,” said Assistant Commissioner Nyathi.
