NEW: Man fatally stabbed with double-edged sword over beer

A CHIREDZI man died at a sports bar on Sunday after being fatally stabbed following an altercation over beer.

The incident occurred in Village 7, Mkwazi, in Mkwasine.

Twenty-nine-year-old Winfred Vugaro allegedly stabbed Richard Ngorenga Chihoyin (39) with a double-edged man-made sword.

Vugaro is currently on the run.

“Police in Masvingo are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Winfred Vugaro (29) in connection with a case of murder which occurred in Village 7 Mkwazi, Mkwasine, Chiredzi on February 4, 2024, in which Richard Ngorenga Chihoyin (39) died,” said police in a statement.
