A MUTARE man was this week found dead in a ramshackle commuter omnibus at Greenmarket.

Simbarashe Zhou, whose age is not known, was known to be an alcoholic and was seen hours before his death getting into the omnibus to sleep.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident.

“Zhou was seen getting into a ramshackle commuter omnibus by Boaz Makuza (40) at around midday. He spent the whole day sleeping in the omnibus. Makuza later heard Simbarashe groaning and he went to check on him. He advised his employer, Ethias Manesa and the two discovered that he was already dead,” he said.

Asst Insp Chinyoka urged members of the public, parents and guardians of people with mental health problems to be cautious and ensure that they take their medication regularly.
