NEW: Man nabbed with 17kg dagga

UNLAWFUL possession of dagga landed a man in soup after police in Chipinge nabbed him following a tip-off.

 

In a statement this afternoon, police confirmed the arrest of Peter Sithole (36) for possessing 17kgs of dagga.

 

The dagga had a street value of $9 million.

 

“Police in Chipinge acted on received information and arrested Peter Sithole (36) near Rimbi Business Centre. He was found in possession of 17kgs dagga with a street value of $9 million,” reads the statement.

 

Police have intensified the fight against drug peddlers in a bid to tackle the abuse of dangerous substances and illicit drugs.
