NEW: Man stones neighbour to death over torch

A 24-year-old man from Hwange was reportedly fatally stoned by his neighbour following a misunderstanding over a torch on Saturday night.

The victim, Peter Lupahla (24), was struck once on the neck and died instantly.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, Bhekhimpilo Khumalo (19).

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of Bhekhimpilo Khumalo (19), who is being sought by the police in connection with a murder case which occurred at Mambanje Village, Dete, on March 11, 2023 at about 8pm,” said police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.

“The suspect allegedly struck Peter Lupahla (24) to death with a stone once on the neck after a misunderstanding over a torch light.”
