NEW: Manhunt for Centenary armed robbers

POLICE have launched a manhunt for five armed robbers who attacked a service station in Centenary, Mashonaland Central province, on Wednesday and got away with a loaded gun, cash and a cellphone.

The suspects allegedly disarmed a security guard before taking away his loaded weapon.

In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said no arrests have been made so far.

“Police in Centenary are appealing for information which may assist in the investigation of a case of robbery, which occurred at a service station in Centenary on August 8, 2023, at around 1am,” said police.

“Five unknown suspects attacked a security guard before disarming him and stealing an Arminus revolver loaded with five rounds, an empty gun cabinet, a cellphone and Chubb safe with US$2 465.”
