NEW: Mhere in tribute song

IN an act of compassion, gospel artiste Mathias Mhere recently took time off his busy schedule to record a tribute song to his friend’s late mother.

The song, “Tinokutendai Amai”, is a collaboration between Mhere and his close friend, Moses Chipi.

Chipi, a Chinhoyi-based businessman, recently lost his mother, Sarah, and he wrote the song as a dedication.

Chipi, the founder and owner of Bakers King, a fledgling confectionery and fast foods restaurant chain, explained to The Sunday Mail Online the circumstances that led to the production of the song.

“I once worked with Mhere at a supermarket a long time ago, and we have been close friends ever since.

“When my mother died, Mathias came to pay his condolences and that is when I asked him to help me record a song in my mother’s memory,” Chipi said.

The song’s backing vocals were done by Mhere’s band members.

This is not the first time that Chipi has recorded a song.

At the peak of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Chipi released a Covid-19 song that received fair airplay.
