NEW: Missing Zanu PF chairman found

THE ZANU PF youth chairman for Bumba District, Cde Nicholas Madzianike who has been missing since June 19 has been found.

In a brief statement, police confirmed the development.

“ZANU PF youth chairman for Bumba District, Cde Nicholas Madzianike who went missing on June 19 has been found and is currently being interviewed by the police at Cashel,” reads the statement.

Investigations by The Manica Post revealed that Cde Madzianike was kidnapped at gunpoint and was bundled in an unidentified Honda Fit vehicle.

 

He was later taken into a closed van and was driven into an unknown place in Mozambique.

He managed to escape after the truck developed an electrical fault and caught fire.

It is reported that Cde Madzianike took advantage to escape despite some gun shots being fired.

 

He had to sleep in a tree before walking back into Zimbabwe.
