NEW: Mokoomba set to host more local gigs

AWARD-WINNING Afro-fusion group Mokoomba is set to perform in Mutare at Courtauld Theatre on March 31.

Organisers of the gig have already started making plans to ensure a smooth flow of events on the day.

The group recently announced that it plans to hold shows in all the country’s 10 provinces.

“Our wish this year is to have more people see our band performing live,” said the group in a statement.

“The next concert will be in the city of Mutare next Friday at Courtauld Theatre.”

Next month, Mokoomba is expected to perform in Bulawayo before they take part in this year’s edition of the MTN Bushfire Festival.

They are expected to collaborate with artists that include Thobile Makhoyane (Eswatini), The Hood Brodz (Mozambique) and Morena Leraba (Lesotho).

Mokoomba is a well-travelled band that has a huge following in different parts of the world including Europe and Australia.
