BUSINESSMEN Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe who stand accused of using forged documents to get a US$9 million tender for the installation of Harare’s street lights appeared in court today and asked the State to allocate a different magistrate for their latest charge.
Mpofu, through his lawyer Mr Tapson Dzvetero, said he was not comfortable appearing before Harare regional magistrate, Mrs Marehwanazvo Gofa, as she is the one also handling his other case involving US$7 million received under the Presidential Goat Scheme.
Chimombe, through lawyer Mr Arshiel Mugiya, indicated that he wanted to challenge his placement on remand.
Mrs Gofa ordered the duo to return to court tomorrow to make their full submissions.
