AFRO-FUSION singer and performer, Amanda Maparuri has released a four-track Extended Playlist (EP), titled “Ahweeand”.
The 24-year-old musician, who also plays the mbira, featured Zimdancehall artiste, Tocky Vibes, on one of the songs.
Amanda, who studied occupational health and safety at the University of Zimbabwe, spoke about the difficulties that she faced during the production of the EP.
“The odds were clearly against me. I faced a plethora of problems, with the lack of funding being the major headache.
“I am grateful to my management team for being there for me when things were tough,” Amanda said.
The EP, according to Amanda, is made up of songs that were inspired by everyday events.
“What happens in our daily lives inspired me to come up with this compilation. I was inspired by real life stories,” added Amanda.
