THE National Joint Negotiation Council (NJNC) is scheduled to meet by early December to discuss a possible review of civil servants’ salaries.

The NJNC comprises Government and civil servants’ representative body, the Apex Council.

In an interview, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister, Professor Paul Mavima, said the meeting could be held either this month or early next December.

“This meeting is supposed to take place sometime either this month or early December and will outline what will happen as far as civil servants’ salaries are concerned,” said Minister Mavima.

“Maybe they will come up with a roadmap as to when reviews will be done going into 2022.”

Government last reviewed salaries in July, when civil servants received an increment of between 45 percent and 50 percent.

Earlier in April, Government had also increased civil servants’ salaries by 25 percent.
