LOCAL financial institution National Building Society (NBS) says it is now redeeming value from its strategic land banks, which are located across the country.

NBS board chairperson Mr Shingai Mutumbwa said the financial institution has already begun development on its various land banks.

“The Society has begun to unlock value from its significant land banks namely, Christmas Gift, a land of 628 hectares located in Gweru, has a planning work that is in motion, whilst the servicing of Mathendele stands (6,4 hectares) situated in Plumtree shall begin in the third quarter of 2024,” he said.

In line with Government’s Vision 2030 of an upper middle-income economy, NBS is developing residential houses to play its role of providing affordable housing units.

Mr Mutumbwa added that in partnership with the National Social Security Authority, the financial institution is developing and servicing 753 residential stands in Chinhoyi and Harare.
