GOVERNMENT has appointed a new board of directors led by Vee Sibanda for the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board.
Other board members include Annie Zulfiqar, Diana Makumbe, Haz Zisanhi, Robert Gonye, Dr Munyaradzi Mujuru, Request Muchimbira and Peter Mudzimi.
The appointments were made in line with the Boxing Wrestling Control Act (Chapter 25:02) and Public Entities Corporate Governance Act (Chapter 10:31).
In a statement, Minister of Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Kirsty Coventry said the new members represent diverse expertise and skills.
“These appointments are with immediate effect and members are expected to provide strategic direction coupled with strong regulatory oversight over the sub-sector in line with the law.
“This will ensure greater accountability sustainability,” she said.
