WITH the November Ordinary and Advanced levels candidate registration mop-up exercise starting today, the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has issued the interbank rate to be used for the those paying for exam fees as $1 207 to US$1.
In a statement, ZIMSEC said the registration fees are accepted in US$, Rand and local currency. Parents and guardians can pay using the currency of their choice.
The registration mop-up exercise will run until Sunday. ZIMSEC said this will allow centres to ensure that all their candidates have been registered for the November examinations.
“Candidates who wish to sit the examinations should ensure that they register at their centre of choice during this period. Examination registration fees during that window are pegged according to the normal registration. The interbank rate which shall apply when making payments for the 2023 November Ordinary and Advanced levels examination fees in local currency during the mop-up window is $1 207 to US$1.
“ZIMSEC continues to accept examination fee payments in the currency the parent and guardians paid. Centres are, therefore, reminded that remittances to ZIMSEC should be made in the currency paid by parents,” said ZIMSEC.
The exam body urged parents and guardians not to pay directly into ZIMSEC accounts.
Payments should be made to the school or centre of registration for forward remission to ZIMSEC.
