Old Mutual innovation hub, Eight2Five, will host a computer coding training camp on Friday aimed at enhancing computer programming skills in women.
Inspired by this year’s International Women’s Day theme, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”, the training camp also seeks to rouse women’s interest in digital technologies.
Old Mutual’s head of women’s network Ms Kudakwashe Mswaka said her organisation is keen to empower women with tech-focused skills.
“The coding boot camp seeks to empower women that are interested in understanding the basics of coding and ignite interest in digital and innovation careers,” she said.
“The boot camp is open to women who do not have any coding skills.
“By the end of the training, the ladies will be able to build basic websites and make various designs.”
