OVER 140 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in schools since they opened last month, with 31 new cases reported last week.
Addressing Tuesday’s post-Cabinet briefing, Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Monica Mutsvangwa said authorities will continue encouraging implementation of Covid-19 health protocols.
“A total of 146 confirmed Covid-19 cases have been reported since the opening of schools for the first term in January 2023,” she said.
“During the week under review, there were 31 new admissions, compared to the 40 recorded the previous week.”
With regards to the national vaccination programme, latest data shows that a total of 6 693 001 first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have so far been administered, while 5 011 932 people have received their second dose.
About 1 427 670 people have so far received their third dose.
