The JBC men’s team narrowly beat Harare City Hornets 59-51 to maintain their perfect start to the Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super 6 league over the weekend.
The win sees them maintain their six-point lead over second-placed Leopards Academy, who also came out of the weekend’s fixtures with a 61-54 win over UZ Stars.
Reigning champions Foxes climbed out of the relegation zone courtesy of a 75-67 win over Bucs.
They now sit in third place.
However, the Bucs find themselves just one point above UZ Stars and Harare City Hornets, who occupy the relegation positions.
In the women’s category, Vixens stretched their winning streak to nine games after a 51-50 victory over JBC’s women’s team.
UZ Sparks still maintain a one-point lead over the resurgent reigning champions at the apex of the women’s log standings following their 61-36 win over Harare City Hornets, which also took their points tally to 22 points at the top of the women’s division.
Fourth-placed Bunnies emerged as 66-51 victors over Greenstars.
