Government has started engagements with parastatals that earn foreign currency, to list on the United States dollar-denominated Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX), Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube has said.

Responding to questions from legislators in Parliament on Wednesday, Professor Ncube said discussions with management of some mining parastatals were already underway.

“We are currently having discussions with management of one of our parastatals in the mining sector, which is to list on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange.

“It is my hope that we will be able to do so within the next three months. So, this is going to happen,” he said.

VFEX is a subsidiary of the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE).

It was established in 2020, to kick-start the Offshore Financial Services Centre (OFSC), which is earmarked for the special economic zone in Victoria Falls.
