Prosecutor General, Honourable Kumbirai Hodzi, has resigned due to ill health requiring medical attention, Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, has announced.
In a statement on Tuesday, Dr Sibanda said President Mnangagwa accepted his resignation.
“His Excellency the President, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, has accepted the resignation,” he said, adding that the President was ready to re-deploy Honourable Hodzi elsewhere in the Service as soon as his health improves.
Honourable Hodzi was appointed Prosecutor General in July 2018 during which far-reaching institutional changes were effected in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Prior to this appointment, Honourable Hodzi served Government as Deputy Attorney General.
