THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing for information that could lead to the arrest of a woman who allegedly dumped a two-week-old baby at Mbare Musika terminus on Monday.

The yet-to-be-identified woman reportedly left the baby in the hands of a stranger aboard an Inter Africa bus on the pretext that she needed to step outside for a quick errand.

The woman, however, disappeared, leading to a police report being lodged.

“The ZRP is investigating a case of baby dumping which occurred at Mbare Musika, Harare, on October 4, 2021 at 3pm , where an unknown woman boarded an Inter Africa bus before asking a fellow passenger (33) to keep a baby.

“The woman did not return to take the baby, leading to a police report being lodged. Meanwhile, police took the baby to Sally Mugabe Hospital for further management,” said the police in a statement.
