LOCAL policymakers, corporate executives and academics will join their peers at the 2025 Quality Corporate Governance Centre (QCGC) summit slated for Kigali, Rwanda, from March 6 to 9.
The summit aims to redefine governance excellence in the African context and will offer an engaging platform for robust dialogue, knowledge sharing and actionable solutions.
QCGC is chaired by Zimbabwean lawyer Advocate Canaan Dube.
This year’s summit will be held under the theme “Resilient Rise: Redefining African Excellence in Governance”.
The summit comes in the face of global challenges and regional transformations as Africa continues to demonstrate resilience and potential as a beacon of governance, innovation and collaboration.
“Through collaborative discussions, we aim to chart a path for sustainable development, ethical leadership and cross-border synergies.
“Rwanda is a role model in terms of transforming economies into the best in class.
“We would like to see how Rwanda is excelling in terms of economic development and what it is that other countries can copy,” said Adv Dube.
Explaining why Rwanda was chosen to host this year’s event, QCGC managing consultant Ms Muriel Madhovi said: “Rwanda is a country which symbolises our theme this year.
“Rwanda symbolises resilience because it is a nation that was birthed from great adversity and yet today, it stands as Africa’s cornerstone, innovation hub and model of good governance, ethics, transparency and all the other corporate governance pillars.”
Discussants will, among other topics, also focus on the effectiveness of regional alliances and trade blocs such as the African Continental Free Trade Area and how to create shared value and improve corporate governance standards across borders.
The summit will provide opportunities for private sector engagement in strengthening regional economic ecosystems.
The role of partnerships in unlocking funding for infrastructure, education and health initiatives will be explored.
Expected outcomes will be knowledge sharing, collaborative action, practical/actionable solutions and thought leadership.
The QCGC summit will invite a diverse audience outside the corporate world including, government officials, civil society organisations and other international stakeholders.
